Telegram is a cloud-based instant messaging and voice over IP service. Telegram client apps are available for Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Windows, macOS and Linux. Users can send messages and exchange photos, videos, stickers, audio and files of any type.
Telegram's client-side code is open-source software but the source code for recent versions is not always immediately published whereas its server-side code is closed-source and proprietary.The service also provides APIs to independent developers. As of April 2020, Telegram has 400 million monthly active users. The announcement included a promise to implement secure group video calls in 2020.
 
If you don't use your Telegram account for 6 weeks then your Telegram account will be deleted automatically but the good part is all of the messages, media may be kept on the Telegram cloud server.

 

 

Method 1

How to delete Telegram account:

Step 1: Open your Telegram app on your device.

Step 2: Next go to Settings.

Step 3: Now choose Privacy & Security.

Step 4: Scroll down, here you set time to 1 Month, 3 Month, 6 Month or 1 year.

 

 

 

Method 2

Step 1: First, you need to the Telegram Deactivation Page on a web browser of your choice.

Step 2: Now enter a phone number you’ve signed up with to Telegram in the international format: +(country code)(city or carrier code)(your number).

Step 3: You will receive a message with a confirmation code.

Step 4: Enter that confirmation code to the respective field, and click the Sign In button.

Step 5: Now the page will ask why you want to leave Telegram. Since this field is optional, you can point out your reasons for quitting and give feedback or proceed by leaving the field blank and click Done.

Step 6: Now you see a warning popup screen asking Are you sure? Just click Yes, delete my account button.

 

       Your Telegram account is successfully deleted, now you no longer use the app.

Note : You have a change of mind and decide that you want to use Telegram again, you may not be able to create a new account for several days after deactivation, so you’ll have to wait a bit to get on board again.

Method 3

 
Delete your Telegram account manually

 

Step 1) Log into the Telegram deactivation support page on a web browser, there is no option in the app: https://my.telegram.org/auth?to=deactivate

 

Step 2) Enter your phone number using the international format and click next.

 

Step 3) A chat message will be sent to you through Telegram with an activation code.

 

Step 4) Enter that code in the deactivation window in your browser.

 

Step 5) You can add a reason for leaving if you wish. Tell them SKY ECC says “Bye-bye” for us.

 

Step 6) Click on the “Delete Account” button.

 

    A pop-up will appear, click on “Yes, delete my account.” Don’t fall for the “Nope, I’ll give it another try” line…

 

                                                    Delete the app from your phone.
