There’s also some visual changes/upgrades:
1) Win-KeX
Win-KeX is a new package release that will improve the Windows plus Kali Desktop Experience. You can install it by running the command:
sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y kali-win-kex
After installing Win-KeX, type kxe and you’ll get a GUI version of Kali Linux running in WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux 2) within two minutes. If you want to know more about Win-KeX, read the official documentation page.
2) Automating HiDPI
Popular Linux distros are already improving support for
HiDPI (High Dots Per Inch) displays like Ubuntu 20.04 and Linux Mint 20. But
sometimes after a fresh Linux installation, we need to tweak the settings to
get it working properly.
3) Tool Icons
If you use the default tool listing (kali-linux-default), every tool in the menu (and then a few extra ones!), should have their own icon now.
4) Kali NetHunter Bluetooth Arsenal
Introducing Bluetooth Arsenal by yesimxev from the Kali NetHunter team. It combines a set of Bluetooth tools in the Kali NetHunter app with some pre-configured workflows and exciting use cases. You can use your external adapter for reconnaissance, spoofing, listening to, and injecting audio into various devices, including speakers, headsets, watches, or even cars.
5) Kali NetHunter for Nokia Phones
If you have a Nokia phone, you can download the images available here. Though the images contain “minimal Kali rootfs,” you can also install all the default tools using the command:
sudo apt install -y kali-linux-default
6) ARM Device Updates
With 2020.3 release, Offensive Security has also added updates to its ARM Images for ARM-based devices like Pinebook Pro and Raspberry Pi. The changes include the addition of kali-Linux-default meta-packages and the size reduction of all new ARM images.
7) Desktop Environment
In this new version of Linux distribution, the advanced settings applied for easy to use:-
GNOME’s file manager Nautilus has a new theme
GNOME’s system-monitor now matches the colors and also has
stacked CPU charts
Improved the design for “nested header bars” (example, in the Settings Window, where the left header bar is joined with the side-navbar)
